1G Wired End-to-End Performance Test - RFC 2544 (OneTouch AT)

The 1Gbps Wired Performance Test is used to ensure that newly installed or upgraded wired networks meet SLA objectives and are ready for new high-bandwidth applications by measuring end-to-end path performance.

Measures:

  • Throughput
  • Frame Loss
  • Latency
  • Jitter

The Wired Performance test measure performance at rates of 50kbps and up to 1Gbps on both copper and fiber networks.

Controller (Master):

  • OneTouch AT G2
  • OneTouch AT 10G

Remote Types (End Point):

  • Peer – Provides Bi-directional upstream and downstream results. The only supported device for the OneTouch AT Wi-Fi or wired performance test is another OneTouch AT.
  • Reflector – Provides roundtrip results. The OneTouch AT supports the following devices as a reflector for Wi-Fi or wired performance testing:
    • LinkRunner Pro or Duo (legacy)
    • LinkRunner AT
    • LinkRunner G2
    • Windows PC (running the reflector software)

Required Ports:

  • UDP 3842 Data Test Port
  • TCP 3842 Test Setup and Tear Down Port
  • UDP Port + 1 for latency Frame Default 3843 (OneTouch AT)

NPT Tests through its Wired or Wi-Fi test port against several types of remote end-points.

* Depends on the availability and performance of the Network Interface of the Windows PC.

NOTE: It is recommended to configure the Remote (End Point) first because you will need the IP of the Remote (End Point) to configure the Controller (Master).

Remote (End Point) Configuration:

Select configuration options below:

LinkRunner AT (Reflector)

LinkRunner G2 (Reflector)

OneTouch AT G2/10G (Peer)

Windows PC (Reflector)

OneTouch AT G2/10G Controller (Master) Configuration:

  1. From the HOME Screen Tap and Hold to get a list of User Tests.

  1. Tap 1Gbps Wired Performance (RFC2544)

  1. Tap Type: Peer  and select the option "Peer" for another OneTouch AT or "Reflector" for everything else.

  1. Enter the IP Address of the Remote (End Point) and Tap Done.

NOTE: The remaining parameters are optional and should be configured based on your performance test requirements.   In this example, I will leave them at their DEFAULT values.

  1. Tap Test again.  (if an AutoTest has not already completed, the AutoTest will begin) followed by the 1Gbps Wired Performance Test
